Water: The Six Elements Book Three Update

Because the first two books in The Six Elements series were released so quickly in succession, I wanted to post a quick update today, as it is exactly two months after Fire‘s release, and one month after Earth‘s.

Water will be the longest book of the series yet. I actually just paused writing to post this, but as it stands now, the book is at 108,014 words and growing. Given that Earth was 124K and I just mentioned Water will be longer, that means it’s not quite finished yet. However, good news! Because I’ve been doing nothing but writing and researching and editing, I’m moving quickly. As a matter of fact, it’s been not quite two weeks since my last update, and I’ve added 36K words since then. I’m estimating that I have about 20-40K left to go. In the meantime, I hope you all enjoyed the teaser for Water after finishing its predecessor! I’m having a lot of fun writing it. Each of the books has its own unique identity that I’m finding fascinating to explore. If you want a hint as to what you can expect in Book Three, here’s a few “random” words:

Angry gods, shapeshifting, galleons, espionage, untamed lands, Kai’s first offensive war campaign with an unlikely ally in an unlikely place, and…hmm. What was the last hint? Oh, yes. Water. Lots of water. Because I titled my books in such an order for a reason. 😉

I hate giving out estimates, but when I keep the remainder of the story in mind plus editing, I hope to get Water out to you all by the end of the year. If I don’t make that deadline, it’ll definitely be to you by very early 2018. As I said, this series is quite literally consuming my life to an unhealthy degree, so I’m working hard for you.     But you’ll have to excuse me while I sit here impatiently waiting for a cover reveal…..
    (Your books are the only cover reveals I’m actively looking forward to atm!)

    • Wow! Thank you for such an awesome compliment. Don’t worry, you’ll get your cover reveal soon enough. 😉 I’ll have to just start writing ten word books so I can put the rest of the covers out on an assembly line to you. Haha!

      • Unfortunately I won’t get a chance to read them until next year (so I give you permission to take your time with Water, lol). I’m so busy with finishing my own first draft, doing a beta read and the holidays coming up (and the baby, as always!) that reading has become really slow 😦
